Having MS is a challenge to say the least, but your attitude & outlook seem to have an affect on how you feel. I go to many MS events & see a lot of people who I have come to know. The people that I say: “Hi, how are you doing?” that respond positively, seem to always respond positively. The people that say: “not good”, “bad”, or “I feel terrible ,” seem to always be negative. With all of the treatments & symptom management treatments, it’s unlikely that someone feels bad every day for extended periods of time. If you do, seek treatment immediately.
I know that my attitude affects how I feel & keeps my stress level low.
If your going to an event, that’s a step in the right direction. You are going to a drug sponsored event, you get a great, free dinner & get to socialize with friends. Most of my friends are fellow MSers now. I always keep in mind that someone always has it worse than me.
Because we have had to slow down because of MS, enjoy the day & spend time looking at what’s around you. I grew up in RI (The Ocean State) so I try to go see, smell, & hear the ocean once per month. It’s just relaxing & make me realize how beautiful this country is.
Enjoy the day, Ray
