Come join our group where we have lunch as we discuss current medications, treatment, doctors, tests, and sometimes we gripe about the world of MS seen through our eyes. Each one of us are at different stages of MS, however, we support and love each group member. We laugh, cry, and yell at this disease that unites us all.
WAMS (Wellness And Multiple Sclerosis)!
WAMS is a positive and affirming group that focuses on living well with MS. This group is co-led by Heidi Lenhardt, National MS Society Support Leader and Vickie Hadge, Overcoming MS (OMS) Ambassador. If you are newly diagnosed, have been living with MS for years, or are an MS caregiver WAMS welcomes you! WAMS is a friendly, non-judgemental and safe place where privacy is protected. No matter where you are on your MS wellness journey we encourage members to “do whatever it takes” to live well to be the healthiest they can be while living with MS.
To join WAMS and be included on the mailing list and part of our Google Group (where will send updates, information, and upcoming meeting information) please use this link and fill out the form. https://overcomingms.org/community/find-support/

Yoga Therapy classes at Sacred Rivers Yoga help those with MS to improve balance, focus, concentration, and breathing, as well as aid in stress reduction. We have been awarded a grant from the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation to offer FREE chair yoga for the benefit of individuals that are affected by MS. Sacred Rivers Yoga has been offering the classes with the help of the MSF on a weekly basis since 2006. Join us on both Monday and Wednesday mornings at 10:45 am for our Yoga Therapy Chair class with Michele Mathews. If you are interested or would like information, please call 860.657.9545 or visit www.sacredriversyoga.com
This class takes traditional yoga postures and techniques and adapts them to be done while seated in a chair or while utilizing a chair for support. This is a great alternative for someone who may have trouble getting up and down off of the ground, someone recovering from an injury, or someone who uses a wheel chair. However, this gentle practice is open to everyone.
Instructor Bio: Michele Matthews is a 200 hour teacher training graduate from Sacred Rivers Yoga, and is also reiki 2 certified. She has been teaching chair yoga therapy since 2013. Michele is passionate about bringing yoga to those whom it may be otherwise inaccessible to.
